Made from kiln-dried or rotary-dried pine, these compressed wood pellets quickly expand when exposed to moisture to create soft, comfortable bedding while helping keep stalls cleaner and drier. Capable of absorbing up to three times their weight in water, this versatile bedding is also an excellent choice for cat litter and can be used alone or mixed with pine shavings to help improve overall absorbency. I use these pellets for cat litter. Being in cat rescue we try to find products that work well at a reasonable price. It is great for cats because when they urinate, it turns the pellets to sawdust and it is easy to scoop out. No dust like the regular and clumping litter. A lot cleaner to use. Remember, don't mist it like you would for horses, just leave it as is and the cats will do the rest. Great buy for people with multiple cats looking for a cheaper and effective alternative.

Most of these reviews address a different brand. Not the new Tractor Supply brand. It is a very poor substitute - starts out brownish and is not nearly as absorbent as the ones they use to carry for less cost. I will not buy any more of it.

Great Cat Litter

Like so many others, we use this as a cat litter. Such a terrific alternative to clay! It smells better and doesn’t track all over the house. Just make sure to scoop out the solids and the liquids turn to dust. Works perfect with our Tidy Cats Breeze system!
